Information and Communication Technology

Curriculum

In ICT students study a range of topics such as eSafety, animation, spreadsheets and computer game making. This develops wide ICT skills using a variety of software. By Year 9 the aim is to have confident ICT users who are beginning to understand programming techniques that can be continued into KS4.

GCSE Computer Science

In Years 10 & 11 students can opt to study Computer Science. This GCSE covers a wide range of computing theory such as networking, software development, databases and programming techniques. These skills are assessed both by examination and practical projects.

Extended learning

The pupils have the opportunity to take part in the media club and independent learning during lunchtimes.
