Transition to Year 7

We understand that transition from primary to secondary can be a nervous time for pupils and parents alike. Our aim is to ensure the process is as smooth and enjoyable as possible, so your son feels welcomed and ready to start his new school in September.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school via admissions@salvatorian.harrow.sch.uk if you would like to discuss any aspect of the transitions process.

Transition Day: Wednesday, 7th July 2021

In common with schools across Harrow, pupils will spend a day at their future secondary school. This is an opporutnity for your son to meet his new classmates and the staff who will be teaching him from September.

Summer School

We plan to hold a summer school for pupils joining Year 7, in recognition of the significant disruption to learning which has occured over the last 12 months. Summer School is a mixture of classroom learning, creative, and physical activities to prepare your son for his first year of secondary education.

Induction Day: Monday, 6th September 2021

This will be the first day of term for new Year 7 pupils. Only Year 7 will be in school on these days and the purpose is to familiarise the pupils with their teachers, the school routines, and to give them space and time to start socialising and making new friends.

Transition Resources

Packs of transition resources - including a reading book, English summer homework, Maths summer homework, and a Student Handbook - will be available to pick up in July. Those who are unable to attend on that day will be posted the pack.
