Transition to Year 7

We understand that transition from primary to secondary can be a nervous time for pupils and parents alike! Our aim is to ensure the process is as smooth and enjoyable as possible, so your son feels welcomed and ready to start his new school in September.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to organise our usual transition activities this year, owing to the COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, we have organised a number of activities - both virtual and physical.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school via admissions@salvatorian.harrow.sch.uk if you would like to discuss any aspect of the transitions process.

Transition to Year 7 in September 2020 - Timetable

Ongoing throughout the summer term

Ms Shamash, Head of Year 7, is aiming to contact everyone who has accepted a place at Salvatorian College by phone. If you have not yet had a call, please feel free to email admissions@salvatorian.harrow.sch.uk with a contact telephone number and she will be in touch.

Wednesday 1st July 2020, 1pm - Transition Webinar

You can view a recording of the webinar here

Tuesday 7th July 2020 - School Visit

All those who have accepted a place at Salvatorian College will be sent a link to book a time to visit the school, if they wish, on Tuesday 7th July. Teachers will be on hand to meet you face-to-face and answer any questions you might have. Packs of transition resources will be available on the day for you to take away. Please note that social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place to keep everybody as safe as possible.

Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September 2020 - Induction Days

These will be the first days of term for new Year 7 pupils. Only Year 7 will be in school on these days and the purpose is to familiarise the pupils with their teachers, the school routines, and to give them space and time to start socialising and making new friends.

Transition Resources

Packs of transition resources - including a reading book, English summer homework, Maths summer homework, and a Student Handbook - will be available to pick up on Tuesday 7th July. Those who are unable to attend on that day will be posted the pack.
