Ofsted Inspection Report

Salvatorian College was last inspected in February 2022.

The report states that:

  • The school is a strong, caring community that nurtures pupils’ talents and abilities.
  • Leaders have high expectations of all pupils. Pupils meet these expectations and strive to achieve excellence.
  • Leaders have established a calm and orderly environment. They do not allow poor behaviour to affect pupils’ learning.
  • Pupils enjoy attending the school.
  • Leaders are committed to providing pupils with a broad and balanced academic education. Leaders have developed a curriculum that is ambitious for all pupils.

Each day, at around 9.15am, a text message will be sent out to parents of pupils who were not present at registration and where a reason has not been given for their absence.

Section 48 Diocesan Inspection Report

The school works in partnership with the Diocese of Westminster, who provide professional development for our staff, guidance in education and support for the spiritual development of our pupils.

The school was inspected by the Diocese in January 2023 under Section 48 of the Education Act.

Parent Forum

Good communication and relationships between the school and parents/carers is central to the successful education of pupils.

Salvatorian College is committed to open dialogue between parents and the school, and is open to receiving suggestions and constructive cricitism at all times.

Parents are invited to attend a forum several times each academic year where they can speak directly with members of the Senior Management Team.

2023 Results

Well done to our Year 11 students on another excellent set of GCSE and vocational results which almost certainly keep the school in the top quintile of similar schools! We are proud of all of you and congratulate you, your families, and our staff on the partnership work which has borne exceptional fruit this year. It was a pleasure and privilege to be with you as envelopes were torn open and to share in your happiness and relief.

83% of our Year 11 students have achieved a grade 4 (pass) in both English and Maths, with 71% of them achieving the stronger pass in both English and Maths.

A special mention to our Head Boy, Kausic, who achieved seven Grade 9s and three Grade 8s. In old money, that is seven A**s and three A*s. Well done Kausic!

2022 Results

The staff of Salvatorian College in Harrow are pleased to report outstanding attainment and progress by their students in their GCSE qualifications this summer.

  • Close to half of all grades awarded were grades 7-9 (equivalent to A-A**).
  • 72nd out of 3721 schools with published progress score = top 2% nationally
  • 4th out of 188 schools for boys = top 2%

 

  • 2nd out of 26 Roman Catholic schools for boys
  • 13th out of 306 Roman Catholic schools = top 4%
  • 3rd out of 39 secondary schools in the Diocese of Westminster
  • 6th out of 39 secondary schools in the Diocese of Westminster for Disadvantaged Pupils

  • Highest performing boys’ school in the Diocese of Westminster for Disadvantaged Pupils

 

  • 121 out of 3523 schools with published progress scores for disadvantaged pupils = top 4%
  • 4th highest progress score of secondary schools in Harrow (out of 13 schools)
  • 3rd highest progress score of secondary schools in Harrow for Disadvantaged pupils (out of 13 schools)

2021 Results

  • 24% of all grades awarded at grade 8 or above (A**-A*)
  • 73% of pupils achieved grade 4 or above in English and Maths (A*-C) 
  • 49% of pupils studying English Literature or Language achieved grade 7 or above (A*A)
  • 36% of pupils achieved grade 7 or more in five or more GCSEs
  • Progress 8 cannot be measured, as there is no comparative data this year, but would be outstanding and much higher than in previous years. FFT measures it at 0.8, which is in the top 2% of schools in the country.
  • Attainment 8 above 56.2

Special mention goes to Benoit Colombier, who achieved grade 9 in all of his GCSEs.

  • 88% of all grades awarded at grade 4 or above (A*-C)
  • 86% of pupils achieved grade 4 or above in English and Maths (A*-C) 
  • 68% of pupils achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths (A*-B)
  • 44% of pupils studying history achieved grade 7 or above (A*A)
  • Progress 8 cannot be measured, as there is no comparative data this year, but would be outstanding and in line with previous years
  • Attainment 8 above 56.3

  • 57% of pupils achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths (A*-B)
  • 44% of pupils studying history achieved grade 7 or above (A*A)
  • Progress 8 of +0.48
  • Attainment 8 above 54

2018 Results

  • Salvatorian Colloge was within the top 300 schools (top 8%) nationally for pupil progress.
  • Of the nine secondary schools in Harrow admitting boys, we were the third highest performing school in terms of progress and attainment.
  • Salvatorian College had the highest proportion of students entering the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) in Harrow
  • Salvatorian College had the highest EBacc average point score for boys in Harrow
  • When comparing data on boys, our results were very significantly higher than the national and local authority average. 

Catering

The dining hall at Salvatorian College operates on a cafeteria system, with hot main meals, hot wraps and rolls, sandwiches, salads, snacks and drinks available at the following times:

Breakfast; 08:00 – 08:45
Breaktime; 11:10 – 11:30
Lunch; 13:30 – 14:00

No cash is taken at the point of sale. Parents can add funds to the cashless catering system via ParentPay. Accounts are called up via biometric fingerprint, or pin. Please contact the Finance Office if you are experiencing any difficulties.
