School closed until further notice

Dear Parent/Guardian

By now I am sure you aware that our Prime Minister last night announced a full national lockdown, with the immediate closure of schools. As a result, Salvatorian College will not be open, for the majority of pupils, until further notice.

This means the mass testing of Year 11 pupils, scheduled for this Friday, will not now go ahead. We are awaiting further guidance on examinations, including the vocational exams scheduled for next week, and will advise you as soon as we are able.

I know many of you will have concerns about the ongoing education or your sons. However, you may rest assured that we will do everything we can to ensure the curriculum is delivered remotely. Indeed, online lessons began this morning for all, just a few hours after the announcement of lockdown. If you have any issues with technology or access, please email

We hold all in our community in our prayers, at this difficult time, that we may all remain safe, healthy and as happy as can be. If your family requires any additional support at this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school and we will do what we can to assist.

May I encourage you to stay at home, protect the NHS, and save lives.

Kind regards,

Mr A Bryant
Head of School
